Coming from a formal medical education with specialization in psychiatry, I have had the unique opportunity to interface with extensive human experience. These opportunities for interface extend from some of the most disorganized to some of the most altruistic and creative. As retirement approached, I was able to return to college for art classes and attend frequent workshops. With actual retirement I immersed myself full time into this new world with the goal of integrating my personal and professional experience into artistic expression.
This formal class work included about 60 hours of studio, and art history. In addition there continue to be frequent seminars and workshops.
Sculpture has been my primary focus with ceramics, stone, and bronze, as most frequent media.
I try to think of art as a process more than a product.
