The Lawrence Art Guild opened 1109 GALLERY located at 1109 Massachusetts in beautiful downtown Lawrence, Kansas on May 2, 2009.
With the assistance of over 150 volunteers the gallery was completely renovated and featured four separate galleries showing fine art, fine craft and a gift shop. The first show in the gallery was "Art by the Park" featured many of the Art in the Park artists who were showing at one of the Lawrence Art Guild's main fundraising events.
A Gallery committee was formed to work out specific details regarding commissions and upcoming shows and a gallery director and assistant director were appointed.
